events from March (in no particular order) *picture added

Easter. Aubie, her baby, and I were all dressed alike (no, I didn't make our outfits. Mom got Aubie's dress and matching doll dress, and I found a matching top for me the day before).

After pictures, Aubie changed into this shirt that I made her. Didn't have time to make her baby a matching shirt for the egg hunt.

My little snuggly baby fresh out of the tub : )

St. Patrick's Day. Since we weren't planning to go anywhere on the 17th, no one would see our green, so we all wore our outfits the day before at church.
When I saw this one, I was wondering what that weird thing in my hair was then I remembered it was my mic (those things really do look strange on, don't they?)

These pictures at sunset were on the day of.

This moth was o
n Ma's doorstep one evening as we were leaving. Pretty cool to look at when it was still, but when it started flying, it freaked me out. That thing was huge!

Tacky Night at Cubbies (AWANA). Earlier that day, we made a kite using embroidery thread, twigs, tape, and a Hobby Lobby bag. I was afraid the huge wind gusts would go away before I made a decent kite, so it was pretty shabbily put together. As pitiful as it was, it went as high as the house before the embroidery thread got all tangled and then ran out. Miss Elizabeth tackled it and tore it before I could get a good picture, sorry. It wasn't much to look at anyway. It was fun though : )

David sold his jeep. I was sad to see it go, but the little guy who bought it seemed really nice, and so happy to be getting his first off-roader.
And here's the replacement:

Way better gas mileage!

So, it only took me... a long time to get this posted. Today is April 10th, and I started this at the end of March.

Crafty Tips (from items featured in this post): 1) My friend Cristi gave me the idea for Aubie's flower shirt (an idea she got from an Ebay boutique). She was making her daughter one and inspired me to do the same. To get the ribbon flowers to stay on, she used E6000. I had never used it and was terrified, but it went well, and without the tacky stitches that I would have probably done, Aubie's shirt looks almost store bought.
2) Aubie's pink jacket she's wearing in the Easter pictures is actually a shirt I got at Walmart the day before for like $3.50. Since I was borrowing Mom's surger (actually Ma's--Thanks Ma!), I just cut down the center of the v-neck shirt, surged both sides and then glued them under with--yep, you got it!--E6000. It was just perfect to complete her outfit and to give her a sleeve, but not too heavy.
3) The leggings Aubie is wearing with her St. Patrick's Day outfit are actually some of her baby tights that I cut the bottoms off of then FrayCheck-ed all the way around to prevent runs. Since they were all ball-y, I turned them inside out. If I hadn't told you, you never would have known, huh? Oh, and her socks are just plain old white socks with green rick-rack sewn around them (thanks for doing the sewing for me, Mom).

events that took place in february...

Ok, so I'm just now getting to the pictures I took in February. There's actually a few more, but not on my camera, so I don't know that my birthday or other important events will ever be documented on this post , sorry. I did record Matthan's first feeding, but that is in video form, and to keep this page from taking forever to show up, I'll put that in another post. I feel kind of sad that I didn't blog for the whole month, especially when one of those days was the last birthday I'll have for another 4 years. Oh well. Here's a little proof that I did do a thing or two last month, though (not at all in order... these first pics were from a two day trip to Rome on the 24th and 25th)

4 reasons to miss Rome: cool landmarks, pretty buildings, and the best Chili's ever (that just got a remodel--isn't it fancy?)
And of course, Granny : )

Aubie and a shot of the new red tiled tables at Chili's (these are nice, but I miss the old blue ones)

Despite all the time in his car seat those 2 days, he still managed to keep a smile on his face :)

Our annual Christmas get-together got postponed until January due to my new baby and expected bad weather. Then it was postponed till February due to snow (that seems to come more often now that I don't live up there. When I lived there, folks around here got snow. I think it hates me). Oh well. Maybe this year we'll celebrate Christmas together.

Matthan, so excited to see tiny Joelle. Aunt Dinah smiling for the camera.

Don't worry, (Mom).Matthan's not hurting her. He just had reached to touch her face as David snapped the picture.

The only picture I got of Margo with her eyes open, and its blury. She was so adorable, but I had trouble photographing the busy little thing : )

Joelle and Hannah (and her doesn't-even-look-like-she-just-had-a-baby self)
Levy pictures... how long has it been since I had some of those? These are Aubie, Lorna, and Lorna' s cousin Phoebe.

Sometime toward the end of the month, I made another quilt for a shower gift. I finished it at 8:59--the shower ended at 9:00. Well, at least I finished!

Just another ordinary day that I took pictures of something out-of-the-ordinary in an attempt to make myself post something on my blog. Aubie loved her star sandwich.

Cute Matthan pics. Looks like he's posing in both of them--the first one as a 193o's movie star.

I read Snow White to Aubie and Matthan listened intently. By the look he has in the second picture, you'd think he could see through the book to the page I'm reading (I think Snow White's witch is the scariest one too, Matthan).

This is one of his normal funny expressions--not sure what day it is, but it was in February.

Valentine's Day. Aubie made a mobile for a Cubbies project. Instead of the tacky hearts-on-a-clothes-hanger idea they suggested, we did a "green" project and made another use for a plastic Folgers lid.

I made Aubie a bag from some cute Valentine fabric from Aunt Evelyn.

I bought some new baby oil, and when I tried looking at David across the room through it, he told me how freaky my eyes looked. Boy did they ever!

Matthan's first feeding post will probably be the next one, then Events That Took Place in March, then the meme that Heather challenged me to, then hopefully I'll find a way to get back on track with all this. I know I've promised it before, though, so we'll see.

At this stage, where everything he learns is from those he's with the most, you'd be surprised at how well he does this (in other words, based on my behavior lately, he didn't learn it from me):

His take on this post:

And if you haven't guessed, he titled it as well.

Now that January's almost over...

I posted this pictures in order of how they happened. Problem is, when you do that, the old ones are at the bottom and the new ones at the top. So, if you want to read this in chronological order, start at the bottom. If you don't give a rip, start anywhere you like. By the way, I started this post on the date above (January 19th), but just now have finished it (on January 30th). Sorry. I'm really going to try to start scheduling time to blog, instead of making it one of my "round to-its".

About a week ago, Aubie woke up and wanted to hold Matthan, so while she was still on her bed, I let her. She said, "This make a good picture." I thought it did too, so I got the camera.
And since Matthan was in such a good mood, I got a few of him by himself. Hasn't he gotten big?

We left our tree up till Epiphany and then some. But it was good that we kept it up so long, because Dorenda surprised us with a visit the weekend after Epiphany.

Ma got this outfit discounted after Christmas at Target. I wanted to get some pictures of my adorable Santa-baby.

As soon as Christmas was over, I started work on this quilt for Renee's new baby, Wendy. My deadline was Thursday, January 3 at 6:30 pm (I just did make it!) I had all the ladies at church donate a piece of fabric (it was the holiday season, so some folks didn't get to me in time) to put in the quilt. I had to piece the back (normally just one fabric) so I could make better use of the donated fabrics. I missed the New Year's party working on it, else I'd be displaying pics of our costumes, too. But one can only do so much crafting at the holidays, especially with a new baby. So we had a peaceful New Year's at home watching Meet the Robinsons (I didn't really watch I just listened--I was busy cutting squares), then watching the ball drop. (I know they're small, so if you click on the quilt pictures, you'll be able to see the details.)

These two are pictures from Christmas Eve at Ma's. We had a lot of fun.

Aubie got one of her favorite movies from MarMar--The Happiest Millionaire. I'm going to have to record a clip of her singing "Detroit" from the movie. Her little voice is so adorable.

I drew Aunt Karen's name for our Christmas in Atlanta drawing. So I made a quilt for her out of one of Mimi's old skirts. It turned out really nice, I think.

The skirt, the quilt, and a close up of the quilt and card that I made to match.
