the seven year lip...

Yeah, I know its "the seven year itch", but in my case that doesn't really apply... well, except for the itchiness that comes with a cold sore. Seven years ago, this same exact cold sore came up and swelled the left side of my lip to the size of a small marshmallow. So, because of its horrid appearance, I went to the doctor. He in turn gave me Zovirax, which made it puff into the size of a large marshmallow. It was a truly humbling experience. Well, here it is again, seven years later, swelling up the left side of my lip to the size of a small marshmallow, while the other side stays normal. It looks almost like they didn't quite finish my make-up before I stepped onto the stage of "Cats". This time, though, I know better than to go to the doctor for something as trifling as a cold sore : )

So, instead of grossing you out with pictures pertaining to this post, I thought I would show a picture or two that I took at the wedding Sunday.

I think you made the right decision.

When you look at your face in the mirror and say, "ooh, I'd make a good a good Bratz doll", I'd say that's pretty dang grody.

Hey Saige! I am actually posting! I totally remember that cold sore! You were so brave to come to work with it...lol. I hope you get better soon. NO FUN!

Anyway, I saw that I missed your call. I will try to call you asap.
Aubie is so cute Saige. BTW who's wedding did you go to?

Hey, Hannah! I was pretty brave, wasn't I? ;) Yeah, you and I just play phone tag most of the time, and then when we finally get to talk, my phone always dies (two times in a row--shall we try for a third?) It was Brother Joe's daughter's wedding. Thank you, I think Aubie is so cute too, and so sweet, but she is also the biggest mess you have ever met. In fact, I am about to post about it.

I've heard that vitamin B6 sometimes works on cold sores...

Actually, what you have is a canker sore. Cold sores usually appear around the mouth while canker sores appear IN the mouth. Also, cold sores are caused by a virus while canker sores are caused by bacteria. And while canker sores are not contagious, cold sores very much ARE contagious.

For this and other information on things you couldn't care less about, visit your local library or ask me, your resident know it all.

:)

But it actually is on the outside of my lip. So that makes it a cold sore, right?, oh knowledgeable one? Well, whatever the heck it is, I am quite happy to say it is on its way out of here!
