the definition of insanity...

Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Well, that about sums it up. I have checked "The Saige Page" several times today expecting some great craft to show up. And guess what? it hasn't. Not a single craft all day. Oh, but wait! This is my blog. So, I guess I had better get busy taking some pictures or something at least.

School

Well, we started back to school yesterday, and Aubie loves her class! Most of her friends from Parents Day Out last year came back this year, so the transition to a new class was super easy. She didn't even mind it when I told her bye and gave her a kissy--she just kissed me, said,"bye, Mommy", and started playing. I "teach" the toddlers in Parents Day Out, so I only work on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 2. But Aubie is in the two year preschool, so she goes 3 days a week. I almost feel guilty being so happy about my 4 hours to myself on Wednesday, but as I said, almost. Of course, after I dropped her off and went through the time warp (Walmart) I only had an hour and a half till I had to go pick her up. But still, a trip through Walmart without having to buy some crackers or something just so Aubie will stay in the buggy... wow. I was so fun to pick her up too, though. She was so excited when I got there and she loves showing me what she made. Well, I still need to make our lunches for tomorrow. Guess I had better get going so I can try to get in bed before 12:30 (I'm not holding my breath).

Another fun project...

Although its not up to PotteryBarn standards, painting this sheet with Aubie was a lot of fun. It was one that I had washed and washed using stain remover after stain remover, but still, couldn't get it to come clean. So, since good baby/toddler sheets are kind of expensive (and this was a good one), I had the idea to paint it. You would think the paint would be itchy, but after one wash, it is almost as soft as the sheet. And Aubie is so proud of the job that we did! She had so much fun. When I put it on her bed tonight for the first time, she said, "Daddy, come look! Come look!" I am not wanting her to stain any more sheets, but it would be fun to paint one again. Also in the picture is the pillow case I made for her little tiny pillow.

First night away from Pookiedoo

Its our anniversary on Monday, so we are spending the weekend at a lovely (yet a bit messy) place to celebrate. It feels just like home. Well, it is home, but Aubie isn't here. Mom and Dad agreed to keep her so that we could have a night and morning (woohoo! I get to sleep in) to ourselves. Only problem with this place is you have to do your own dishes. SO, with that said, I guess I had better get those dishes done so I can enjoy my sleeping in tomorrow (we go to church in the evenings, so in case you were wondering, we aren't "heatherns"). Good night!

A few pictures of the aforementioned adorable 2 year old

Just about every day Aubie says, "Go to Park, Mommy? We go to Park?" Though we are so fortunate to have a park across the street, Mommy gets tired and hot playing outside. I am sure I will enjoy it much more in the fall. Here are a few pics of our visit the other day.

Crafty Cleany

I am so ready to get to work on some more projects. But what am I doing? Instead of getting this house clean, I am typing a post. Getting everything organized and cleaned up just seems so daunting. How in the world did women used to do it when they had to wash clothes by hand, make the clothes they were washing, cook a full course meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and grow the food they were cooking. I think I would just die. Just roll over and die. Taking care of my sweet, precious 2 year old has about done me in. It's almost 11:00 and I am beat. Maybe tomorrow I can do a little something crafty ;) Well, I guess I really need to do something clean-y.

Posted My First Refashion (and my first post to this blog)

I am so excited. I am really getting into refashioning. I found this website not to long ago and took the Wardrobe Refashion Pledge. http://www.wardroberefashion.blogspot.com/ I have already tea stained a t shirt and freezer-paper-stenciled it. And here is the skirt that I made out of 2 pairs of jeans (you can see it on wardrobe refashion too) Need to take another pic since I finished the hem and it wasn't finished in the picture. The picture looks a bit wonky, but the skirt really looks pretty good on. I wish I had time to refashion all the time, but alas... Ok, I am wondering how to start new paragraphs here. Its not letting me, but perhaps that is a sign that I need to go to bed ;) Hopefully I will put a bit more into this blog than I did the last one I started--all of one post. TTFN!
