a crafty thing : )

Well, it only took from like 12:00 to 3:00 (with countless interuptions from a certain young lady) to get this made with Aunt Evelyn doing most of the work (I wanted to, but I kept getting nervous). It would have taken me much longer than that had I done it myself. I felt so like I-don't-know-squat (she didn't make me feel this way, but when you see someone sew like her, it kinda just happens). Like a young padawan(I thought this word was spelled in a prettier way, but that's what Wikipedia says) learning from Master Obi Wan. Good gracious! She knows every trick in the book. I hope that I retained some of what I learned sewing with her today. I asked her if I could use her serger, and then she pretty much made this backpack. I feel like I did enough to say "My Aunt Evelyn and I made it" not as good as, "Yeah, I made it" or as bad as, "I sewed on the button." So, at least I know how to make one now. And I think I will do much better on my own machine, not feeling like I don't know squat.

Aubie modeling how it looks on a 2 year old. It looks a bit wonky, but its not, my model just had trouble understanding my crazy directions and it has already been stuffed with crayons and a doodle pad.

That is absolutely terrific! I have got to learn how to sew. One day! One Day! I think I am just scared of numbers and getting them wrong, also I don't have a sewing machine. I always think of things that I would like to make but I can't. Did you create the pattern or get it from somewhere?

Thanks. I got the idea from sewingmamas.com. Its not a pattern, but one of the ladies created a sew-along to show you exactly how to do it. You have to be a member (its free) to see anything on there, but I probably could figure out a way to send you the download of the sew-along. I really do want to make another one now. I hope that it will be easier now that I have done one already.

Thanks, Aunt Karen. I am really enjoying having this outlet. Isn't she adorable? She is starting to be a good model again like she was when she was a baby. She just went through a not-wanting-to understand-what-you-say-toddler phase, but now, she makes such good pictures again.
