Just look at this culinary masterpiece. Chef had these laid out so beautifully when I walked into the room. Each plate had a serving of "sponge cake" and had been accented with a block of, hmm... white chocolate (one of them has been iced with a"v" which stands for "very delicious"). They were all set out so neatly and ready to be served. Isn't that just adorable? I was even able to overlook my fake food aversion to enjoy looking at this sweet little meal.

the saige page...
Ok, this is one idea that only took a few minutes to come up with. I would love to embroider something, but other crafty folks have already done that, and I don't want to look like I'm copying. But I think this would look pretty cool if I could ever get it up to the top of the page.

Waaaah. I keep looking at all these great craft blogs and everyone of them has their own unique header. Like http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/. So cool. But I cannot figure out how to get something like that without paying an arm and a leg (or going insane). The blog pages that are extremely easy to figure out (the kind I need) cost a lot of money. And the ones that are free, well, they're cute, but if you want to do anything special on it, you have to understand how to talk the language, and I don't! I think this calls for something drastic. I am gonna have to ask David for help. And hopefully, in a few days, the Saige Page will start looking even more Saige-y.
A fall flashback. Aubie playing in the leaves 2 years ago. :' ) <--- My version of a happy/sad face (I figured out how to make one, Sue!)

"Gaston, you are positively primeval!"
I can't help but think of Beauty and the Beast, the part where Gaston says, "How can you read this? There are no pictures!" And Belle responds with, "Gaston, you are positively primeval!" But when I come across a blog, wikipedia entry, etc. with absolutely no eye candy, all I can see is, Blah, blah blah, blah. Blah-blah, blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Call me "primeval", but there it is. Its almost like the antithesis of "Shoot the duck!!!!! Win your free computer!!!!!!" jumping around the screen every thirty seconds when you are just trying to figure out the way to spell rhinocerus on dictionary.com (did I spell it right? I was too afraid of having to shoot ducks to check), but just as annoying.

our national fair is a great national fair...
That doesn't quite have the same ring, does it? Anyway, sorry these fair pictures are so long in coming. It was only 2 1/2 weeks ago, but so much has happened since then, it feels like ages. Here are a few of the highlights:
David, Aubie, and Aubie's friend, Jill intently watching the marionette show.
Aubie waits while Pinocchio tells her daddy a secret.
David, Aubie, Jill, and her daddy, Steve, preparing to ride the Dizzy Dragon.
Despite the long faces, the girls had a great time backseat driving together.

mini me
Due to the smashing success of the first forced perspective picture, I had to post this one. I actually think its a better picture, but it almost seemed too strange for a miniature person to be held by a woman with a little hand growing out of her chest.

back again
Its seems like just as I was getting started back blogging, I had to stop again. But it was for a good reason. This weekend, I had the best weekend ever. There is nothing like God showing his love to you over and over and over again. If you have never been to Tres Dias (or Cursillo or Walk to Emmaus), all I can say is, when you are there, you just find out how much God loves you. I just got really refreshed. It feels like my insides got a pedicure. Of course, after you have such a great experience, and you come home to the mess that was made in just a few hours of a two year old entertaining herself while her father worked from home, its really hard to "think high thoughts" and not let "the grime of daily living get you down (a line from one of my favorite old movies, Summer Magic)." But I have been trying. (In case any of you are thinking, "Well, her father should have cleaned up that mess before you got home!" You do not understand how very like being in the Twilight Zone--black and white and everything--it is to try to get out of the house and leave for the weekend with Aubie pulling out toys up until the very minute you leave. He did good to get out of the house.)
For the picture in today's post, you get to see what the cover of Summer Magic looks like. Yes, that tiny little blonde person is Haley Mills, and I don't know if you can see anyone else... (I am sure there are better Summer Magic pictures, but I could have taken this picture myself since Mom has it, so I didn't really feel like I was posting something illegally. )

goth girl returns
Yep, here she is again, only this time she didn't eat the stamper, she just disected it... then rubbed her hands all over her already cheetos-y mouth. Notice how the orange complements her fall shirt beautifully. (that plastic bag behind her head makes her look like the Flying Nun)

Where have I been?
Some of you have probably been checking everyday to see if I have put anything new on here. I am sorry if I have let you down. I didn't mean to disappoint. I just needed to prioritize. Its not good to spend time on the computer when you don't have any clean clothes to wear. Or when goth children are destroying your house, it's better to put them (her) in time out than to take a picture because it will make a funny blog (by the way, I have another goth girl shot... this time with cheetos lips too. I'll post it soon). So, yeah. I have been trying to focus. And blogging was taking too much time away from my DISORGANIZED house. But guess what? My house is clean, my house is clean [to be read in a sing-songy manner]. I am so happy. And I am trying my darndest to keep it that way. (Thanks again to my "spacial" mother. She has helped me out SO much!)
Here are a few pictures from the pumpkin patch that I took yesterday. No, she isn't looking at anyone standing to the side of us. Its just that I kept asking her to "look at Mommy", and that was the result I got. Maybe I should say, "Look to the side out of the corners of your eyes" and then, she just might look at Mommy.
The one good one is off center because I was trying so hard to get her to smile at me. Oh well. : )

a few more Rome pictures
Aubie daintily poking a stick in the stream.
Leah, Aubie and I standing atop the levy behind The River Church.
Aubie scooting down the steep levy hill.
It doesn't look that steep from the pictures, but if you are wearing slide on shoes, you can't get any traction. And if you take your shoes off, but you have pantyhose on, then you certainly can't get any traction. Just take my word for it. I ended up having to sit down and then push my way up backwards the last few feet in order to get to the top. My shoulders hurt for the next few days :-0

Rome sweet Rome
This weekend was so much fun. I just love going to Mountain Day at Berry College. Here's a link that explains what it is.Georgia: Martha Berry/Mountain Day (Local Legacies: Celebrating Community Root
Here are a few pictures from this weekend:
Aubie, Aunt Leah and I looking through the window of the old mill. David was up on the hill taking the picture. The fuzzy sparkles are the water coming off the big water wheel.
Granny and Aubie watching the march.
Aubie hugs her Daddy on this perfect October day.

click the x
Hey, if anyone is having trouble seeing the trivet, click the little red x, and you should be able to see it. I dont get all this http:=deselect blogger image gracefully": www.blah blah blah stuff. Somehow when I start messing with the Edit Html then I edit the wrong things. What does all that stuff mean anyway? Hats off to the people who can understand that computer language. I would be better of at Klingon, I think. Have a great weekend.

trivet
Just look at this thing. Is it not the coolest trivet ever? I got it at the Macon Rescue Mission about 2 weeks ago and wanted to post a picture as soon as I got it. But then came the pirate party and then David being gone and then the sickness that just has nearly gone away today (still not feeling my chipper self). It is just totally me. It says Moldova... pirates... it says yellow kitchen (and what's up with that floating chicken head?)! I just love it. So anyway, I got and said, "Wouldn't it be so cool to have a yellow and black kitchen." Well, guess what? I already do. My ugly plastic stick-on tile from the 1950's just happens to be yellow and black. How cool is that? Well, its not. At least the plastic stick-on tile isn't. So over the next few months, I plan on making that yellow and black kitchen I've been dreaming about for the last 2 weeks. With something as awesome as this to base it on, who cares if its stick-on tile? Did I mention its plastic?

Sorry...
I think I promised a few of you that I would blog something yesterday. Well, I started on one. But since I am still not feeling well, and Aubie keeps on going whether I feel good or not, I wasn't able to finish it and then I lost it. I am really tired of being sick. Good news, though! Feeling this bad has lost me like 4 or 5 lbs! Woohoo! At least there is something to be excited about. While I was really sick, and David's back was out for 2 days, an unannounced hurricane attacked our house. I've decided to call it Hurricane Aubilane. Such destruction. I have only just today gotten the energy to begin the reconstruction of what used to be our living room. But... 4 pounds! Woohoo!
