variation on a theme(#192)

Many of you have seen the Georgia pillows I make when someone moves away (of course two current Georgia residents have received them as birthday gifts). I had planned to make one of these for my friends who were moving back to Ukraine, but when their visas didn't come through they had to stay here. In the back of my mind I had plans to make a Ukraine pillow for them someday. The opportunity arose this past week when I was invited to a surprise party for Cristi. Here's a picture of the result.
Typical last-minute-Saige fashion, I wrapped the present before I got a chance to take a picture. And even though I had my camera at the party, I forgot to take a picture then too. When I got home, I was so excited to post! Until... I realized I hadn't even taken a picture. Very tacky-ly, I asked the gift recipient to email me a picture of the present. I think the pictures turned out pretty good for having been taken with a camera phone!

Ukraine looks like a submarine that sprouted feet. Good job, Saige. I'm glad you created the state/country pillow fashion.

cool pillow! Would you happen to know how to make a pillowcase dress? I would like to make one for Grace and they look easy I'm just not sure exactly how to make one. I don't really have a pillowcase I want to tear up but I do have some extra fabric laying around I could use!
